“Fans of a certain bygone strain of underground rap will be pleased to learn that Deltron 3030— the trio consisting of West Coast weirdo Del the Funky Homosapien, DJ Kid Koala, and producer Dan the Automator— are back after years of inactivity. They’ll release Event II, the followup to their 2000 debut, sometime in 2013. The album has been in the works for almost a decade.”

Streetlight Manifesto Boycotts ITSELF!
A new era of musicians is rising. With whole albums being produced in house [entirely by the band] the need for labels is dwindling and they are getting scared
…[I feel like SOPA may have been in response to this because they were getting scared that their corporate wallets would start thinning…idk]
Anti-label conversations have been springing up for a long time about how to get money directly to the bands you want to support and not into the pockets of the corporates.
Looks like the people who are under labels are going to start taking action. I’m sure bands have been for a while,[I mean there were bands in the mid-nineties that started self-promoting using the internet during its uprising] but it looks like its starting to get noticed by the media.
I’m looking forward to where this is going.
Attend Concerts, buy merchandise, boycott the labels, support your local musicians, and long live self-promotion.
